Being Lead Designer Meant Letting Go

I’m Morgan, the lead designer at Digital EFX. When I was fresh out of college, I didn’t know where I fit in the design world. I just knew I loved cars, and I loved art. No plan, no big connections. Just a hunger to prove myself.
A peer from college, John Bailey, pointed me toward Digital. I landed an interview and took an unpaid internship without hesitation. I worked every hour they’d let me, while still clocking as many shifts as an assistant manager at Pep Boys across the river in Indiana. I worked all the hours they’d allow, too. I had one rule: Pay the bills—because you’re an adult now and you’re not moving back home.
