I found my way into the sign industry as a graphic designer. I had been working as a photographer/image editor/art reproduction specialist for a few years before I started working at the sign shop. For five years, I was the lead graphic designer for the shop, but since it was a family shop run by my husband and in-laws, I ended up learning how to do everything else too! Mik and I would be the last to leave at night, getting everything produced for the next day or installing graphics. I never really expected to end up in this industry; it was a lot of random circumstances and decisions that led me here, but I feel like this is the best fit of all the careers I have tried on.
