The Unsung Heroes of the Wrap Shop

When you run a wrap shop, it’s easy to get caught up in the front-end design and final install. Those moments are flashy and satisfying. But in between? That’s where the real magic happens, and I got a heavy dose of that when I stepped into our production department.
I’ll be honest: I didn’t just “shadow” production. I lived it. Laminating. Plotting. Weeding. Masking. Taping. Lining up panels. I was behind the scenes, sleeves rolled up, living in that space where the job either gets dialed or derailed.
What I quickly realized is that production is the kitchen of this operation. Our installers and designers might be the chefs and the servers, but if your production place is out of order, if tools aren’t labeled, if prints aren’t cut straight, if the rolls aren’t organized, you’re sending chaos to the front line.
